Round up of the Junior and Development games from the weekend.

Saturday 12/10

DHC D1 v Rotherham
1 - 1
Sheffield v DHC D2
1 - 4

We got soaking wet. It was freezing. It wasn’t nice. We lost 4-1.
HOWEVER! Our kids were typically Donny. They all got stuck in and carried on, special mention to the younger girls that were new to Development.
The first half was 1-1 and we were the better team, their older group got the better of us in the 2nd half.

Sunday 13/10

Girls results

Under 10 Girls
The under 10 girls travelled to Chesterfield for their first tournament of the season. The girls, who hadn't played together as a team before, began the campaign with a 4-1 loss against Rotherham. The 2nd game was a 2-0 loss against Barnsley, then the 3rd was a 2-1 defeat against Chesterfield. As each game came and went, the girls were getting better and better, playing well as a team and understanding how each other played. The final 2 games saw a 2-1 win against Sheffield and a 0-0 draw against Lindum. A fantastic Morning and a bright future for these young ladies!

Under 14 Girls
It was a sunny morning as the U14 girls met at home with Wakefield for their latest Tier 2 league match.
The girls made a solid start with much of the ball time being spent in their half. Lucia scored the first two goals. Then a short corner conversion from Abigail took the girls in to a 3/0 lead. The defence kept a Wakefield short corner out of goal meaning the score remained 3/0 at half time.
In to the second half and DHC continued with numerous shots on goal. Abigail finished another goal over the line to make it 4/0. The girls remained dominant with a near miss from Bronwyn off the post. This was followed with a number of short corners before Louisa hit the 5th goal home after a number of deflections in the box.
The final goal came from another short corner conversion, a hat trick for Abigail and a total of 6/0 for the team.
The girls really came together today with some excellent passing and great defending from the whole team meaning the ball spent the majority of time in DHC possession.
A good practice for the cup match against Rotherham next weekend.
