U10 Girls Tournament - DHC got a win!
The under 10s girls travelled to Leeds for the under In2 hockey tournament. We new the day would be challenging as a lot of the teams weren't in our usual tournament league. With 5 games played, we lost 4 and won 1. The girls battled hard and never let their heads drop. They all worked hard, played very well and should be extremely proud of themselves!

Doncaster welcomed old friends Kingston upon Hull to the JSM for a Tier 1 Supra Vase match on Sunday.
It promised to be much the same, with the outcome being determined by who played the higher quality of hockey.

Hull started brightly with good passing moves, allowing them territorial advantage. Without pressing home that advantage, Doncaster took the lead with an Oli B finish from the first short corner. Hull equalised before half-time following 'a mistake' in the home D.

Doncaster scored their 2nd just before half-time when Tom S played a good pass into the stride of Ed B, who applied the finish
The 2nd half started much brighter with Ed B running at the Hull defence. The team began to play with more conviction, and Ed scored his 2nd mid-way through the half. Hull rarely threatened after this with Zac marshalling in front of the back 3. Sam H, in goal, was called on once to make a saving clearance late on, but the boys played out positively to secure a 3-1 win and a semi-final spot away to Winchester.
Thanks to all those who supported.

4 - 2 win and through to the finals!
Doncaster U18 Boys Reach National Final with Victory Over Telford

Doncaster Hockey Club’s under-18 boys have made history by reaching a national final, joining an elite group of Doncaster teams to achieve this feat. Their hard-fought 4-2 victory over Telford and Wrekin Hockey Club at the John Marshall Arena was a testament to their resilience, skill, and team spirit.

The Doncaster side was spurred on by a lively crowd, which included past players attending the Andy Gibson Foundation Day, along with vocal support from parents and members of the men’s first team squad, refreshed after their own impressive 4-1 win against Ben Rhydding earlier in the afternoon.

Doncaster started strongly, taking an early lead through goals from R Wilson and G Henshaw. Their momentum was briefly disrupted by an unfortunate early injury to influential player B Pickles. However, J Walton rose to the challenge superbly, expertly marshalling the Doncaster defence throughout the match to keep Telford at bay.

A strong Telford side, determined to leave their own mark on the game, pulled one back before half-time and then equalised midway through the second half.

However Doncaster were not to be denied and their team spirit and determination was epitomised by T Stoves, whose courageous defensive effort saw him temporarily sidelined with a five-minute suspension.

The deadlock was broken when Doncaster seized the initiative with a quickly taken sideline hit that caught the Telford defence off guard, allowing R Wilson to score his second of the match from close range. F Wilson then sealed the win, finishing off a well-worked short corner routine late on, to cap a fine individual performance, and extinguish Telford’s hopes of a comeback.

It was an impressive team effort from Doncaster, with cameo highlights from R Penk, E Brown, J Potts, and W Harris all contributing to the win. The victory now sees Doncaster’s U18 boys proudly advance to the national final, a remarkable achievement that reflects the dedication and talent throughout the squad.
