Some great hockey at times lots of ball in the golden D zone but need to convert more of those into shorts or goals - girls opinion was we should have won all 3 games .
Last match some great defending and save and a worldy goal line clearance from Georgie!

DHC U14G A vs Tynedale
4 - 1
In the wake of Storm Bert, DHC U14A girls travelled to Hexham, Northumbria on Sunday 24th November.
Having won the first half of the season by topping the Tier 2 EH league for Yorkshire, our girls faced the top of the Tier 2 league for North East in this “crossover” match.

The first half of the match was end to end with shots on goal from both teams.
Pressure from DHC payed off with a first goal 23 minutes in from I. Rafferty.
Tyndale were then awarded a short corner which led to a firm save from DHC defence.
Several more shots on goal from DHC followed before half time.

Three minutes in to the second half S. Fearn scored- 2/0.
There was a period of game stoppage as one of the DHC girls left the pitch injured.
Play resumed and a great run down the pitch by R. Ransford was followed by a tap in by S. Fearn- 3/0.
R. Ransford then completed another fast run down the pitch, this time finishing in her own goal- 4/0.
With a couple of minutes to go Tyndale managed to claw back a goal.

DHC dominated the game and a clear improvement in this match was catching the ball on the rebound leading to more shots on goal.

The girls showed amazing resilience through freezing cold winds , losing a teammate to injury/hospital and a 3 hr journey to start off with before they even picked up a stick.
A well deserved 4/1 win.
Goalie T. Jones made some excellent saves challenging early to ensure that Tyndale could not pull back.
So, first goal conceded this league season.
Top of Tier 2 for Yorkshire and North East.
Thanks to Stuart Laidlaw for his coaching so far this season.
Thanks to all the ever enthusiastic parents, especially those who offered car share & made the long drive to make sure all the girls got to play.

The girls are looking forward to playing Tier 1 in the New Year as well as the third round of the EH Tier 2 Cup on 12 January 25.
