Sunday
Timperley vs DHC M1
The last game of the season is here and league champions Timperley await. It’s a place where we’ve not had a great deal of success of late, but the motivation of being able to compete with the very best is something we’ll carry into the weekend to try and get a positive result.
It’s been a long and challenging season, but we’re really proud of the team’s results having
secured a top 3 position for the second season in a row. A special thanks to Jasper and all the guys that have helped the team function this season - none of this would be possible without you.
Both this weekend’s teams know each other well and couldn’t be split earlier in the season as a 2-2 draw played out at Town Fields. Timperley deservedly had the league won a few weeks ago and they have beaten every side in the division, aside from us. Although there is no jeopardy or reward on the game, the opportunity to say we can mix it with the best is really important to us, and while there’s points on the table to be had, this Doncaster side will always be hungry for them.
While there have been some frustrating afternoons this season, the overwhelming feeling is one of positivity around this team, with new players coming in and shining, youth getting the opportunity to showcase their talent, and of course the old guard to uphold traditions and standards of what representing Doncaster 1XI means.
We are fortunate enough to be the best supported club in the league, and wherever we’ve gone, whatever the weather, whatever the result, our crowd has been fantastic - thank you to all who have followed us and we hope we give you something to cheer about on Sunday.
