5. Disciplinary Procedure

Disciplinary Procedure

Captains should immediately report any club member receiving a red or yellow card from an umpire to the Club Secretary. Committee representatives, normally Chairman, Secretary and Men’s or Ladies Rep, will investigate all red cards within 10 days following receipt of the umpire’s report and sanction from the relevant league authority. Yellow cards will be investigated depending on frequency and nature of the offense for any given member.

The Committee will seek to establish the true facts of any incident(s) they investigate. Its purpose will be to support the club member in recognizing and correcting any inappropriate behaviour.

In the case of a red card the Committee will decide on a range of actions including; endorsing or challenging the league authorities’ sanction(s) and or applying additional penalties given below. The Committee will require club members to give their account of events in person. Corroborating accounts will also be needed. Additional penalties may include:

 No further action.
 Verbal or written warning
 Suspension from playing or club membership for a period to be defined
 Recommendation to the full committee of expulsion from the club

Penalties may have conditions attached at the discretion of the Committee.
